Ok, this may or may not be my last summer in Austin, but I plan on making all of my other Summer's jealous with this one. I've made a list of things I plan to do by the end of them Summer. If you want to get in on the action just let me know.

Edit: Yeaahhh, I didn't do all that many when I think about it. Although I had one of the best summer’s I’ve had in a while. Some of them I'm still working on.

You can call me Ace

Wednesday, April 29, 2009 0
because now that I just got a job interning at Austin Monthly magazine that's what I'm going to be, an ace reporter. Someday. I've been sitting on this one for a few weeks because I didn't want to tell too many people that I'd interviewed and then have to tell all of them that I didn't get the job. I was lucky enough to be asked to intern there this Summer, and I'm am ecstatic. I start tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.

The only thing I can't figure out is what I want to wear....Maybe something kind of edgy, but cute.

.. or something like this that's a neat color combination.
... or a plain look that I can't go wrong with.

... or maybe they don't dress up and I should just wear something casual.

Fantasy Hair

Tuesday, April 28, 2009 0
The 2009 international Fantasy Hair Competition was held on April 23 in New Hampshire. These getups are impressive, although I don't think you have to be a hairstylist to win.

This is the third place style by Christine Sheldon from Hokksett, NH. It's call "Prosperia."

I really liked this one, nevermind that the model looks in terrible pain. Seriously though, of the top three (you'll see the other in a second) this is the only one to incorporate hair in an obvious way. It  looks like it had to be built on her head and not just a head piece stuck on her.

Colleen Jamieson from  Nashua, NH won second place for this, "The Indian Fertility Goddess Parvati."

With the disclaimer that I am in no way a hair stylist, I don't really know why this one got second place. I'll give Jamieson the idea, it was indeed pretty clever, but there's nothing really special at all done to the hair. For the most part it's just curly. Actually, you know what, now that I look at it, maybe those long tendrils coming from her behind her back are supposed to be hair- that actually is pretty cool. If they aren't then I stand behind my previous statement.
And this my friends, is what the winner looks like. This is Kevin Lamont from Farmington Hills, Michigan with "The Proud Peacock" look. Now don't get it twisted, I think this is awesome looking, but there's not much hair to it. Nothing that I can see in that costume is really done with hair. Lamont just made a headdress and stuck in on her head. He won based on a costume, not a hair style.

Tax returns are like Christmas

Tuesday, April 21, 2009 0
say hello to all of the things I want to buy with my tax return money. I would love a decent camera so I dont' have to deal with my crappy one anymore.
Seeing as how all of the jewelry I wear is from my grandmother's closet (not that it isn't cool mamaw), I think it's time for some new stuff.
mostly I just want the lap top case, but I could also use a new laptop seeing as how mine got run over (cough, cough) If you're reading this, sorry mom.
Is it too hot to buy leather pants now that I can afford them?
Shoes like these, even though Sean and I just got into an argument about me having too many pairs of shoes. I do what I want.

A denim vest, solely for the purpose of recreating this outfit.
